It's Career and Technical Education Month®

In February we celebrate Career and Technical Education Month^®, sponsored in 2022 by the National Association of Home Builders. CTE Month^® is a public awareness campaign that celebrates the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. Career and technical education directly prepares students for living-wage, high-demand careers. These students often attend career fairs hosted by their schools. Attending career fairs as an employer is an excellent way to attract new talent to your HVAC business.

CTE students gain pathway-specific TECHNICAL and ACADEMIC skills as well as cross-cutting EMPLOYABILITY skills for success in any workplace, in further education and in career awareness and planning. In fact, CTE inspires and motivates students to develop many of the skills that employers most need across jobs and industries.

One of the best things you can do to help increase the skilled workforce is visit your local middle and high schools and talk about what a great career option HVAC/R can be. Maybe you'll get to learn what happens in CTE classrooms every day. Or check you local school district for college and career fairs you can attend to raise awareness of HVAC and CTE and help students and parents understand the opportunities this industry offers.
