Dept of Labor Dialogue Reminder
TACCA is continuing to participate in online dialogue through March 29 with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to help you understand and meet your obligations to provide expanded family and medical leave under the FFCRA.
What questions do you have? What guidance are you looking for? Send TACCA an email before the end of the day on Sunday, March 29, with your questions and we’ll make sure they get posted so we can all get the answers we need.
House Passes CARES Act
Today the House voted in favor of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act). President Trump is expected to sign this Act quickly and we will have a better understanding of what this means for you in the next few days.
Quarantine for Travelers Arriving to Texas From New York Area and New Orleans
Yesterday Governor Greg Abbott issued an order for mandatory 14-day self-quarantine for anyone traveling to Texas as their final destination through an airport from the Tri-State Area of New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut and New Orleans. The order does not apply to people traveling in connection with military service, emergency response, health response, or critical-infrastructure functions. Read more HERE.
A personal note from our executive director:
With many people following shelter in place orders, I am thankful for a bit of a pause from the onslaught of information that has inundated us over the last couple of weeks. I am looking forward to this forced family time this weekend and I wish you and your families an awesome weekend, too.
Even if you haven’t felt stressed during this time, I encourage you to take some time to recharge – play a board game, work a puzzle together, take a walk (keeping a safe distance form others, of course), create a fun video, read that book you keep saying you’ll get to, and above all, take a break from the news.
During lunch today we took a walk to enjoy the fresh air. On a whim, I grabbed the bucket of chalk and we left sidewalk art along the way. I hope it makes someone smile. It sure made this kid's day.
As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.
